back to real weddings

How did you meet?” is a question that often sparks the sweetest love stories. For KayLah and Tyler, their paths crossed at a dance hall in Texas. It was KayLah who took the first step. “I was attracted by how she approached me with her beautiful smile and how she didn’t skip a beat after she stumbled over her name,” recalls Tyler. Believing in their instant connection, KayLah unknowingly manifested their future. “She even texted her mom that night saying she met her future husband!

KayLah and Tyler knew they wanted something uniquely their own, and the Caribbean seemed like the perfect choice. When their families heard the wedding would be on a tropical island, the excitement for the big day grew. “We both thought, what better place than Turks and Caicos with the beautiful sands and turquoise waters?” KayLah says. The ability of Beaches Turks and Caicos to host a fun celebration for family and friends made their decision a no-brainer.

The azure waters and powdery white sands of Turks and Caicos offer a picturesque backdrop, which set the stage for KayLah and Tyler’s dream wedding weekend.

One of KayLah and Tyler’s most important requests: for their guests to embrace the friendly Caribbean culture. To do this, the duo wove steel drums and tropical drinks into a welcome reception, accented with white linens and string lights. Each guest also received a custom tote as a thank you and reminder of their time on the island.

Nestled among the Caribbean’s pristine splendor, Beaches Turks and Caicos boasts unparalleled natural beauty. The azure waters and powdery white sands offer a picturesque backdrop, which set the stage for KayLah and Tyler’s dream wedding weekend.

KayLah and Tyler’s decision to have a destination wedding in Turks and Caicos was met with excitement from family and friends, especially because the island is one of the closest Caribbean destinations to the U.S. mainland. Despite the proximity, the couple wanted to be mindful of those who couldn’t travel to the island. To ensure everyone felt included, they organized engagement and bridal parties, as well as a reception, back home. Photographers and a videographer were also hired to capture and share the memories from each celebration. Even during their reception in Turks and Caicos, KayLah and Tyler found a way to include those who couldn’t make it — by FaceTiming their loved ones back home!

KayLah and Tyler’s guest list included kids, which made Beaches Turks and Caicos an ideal wedding location. Once KayLah and Tyler saw the resort’s 21 restaurants, water park, and expansive family-style suites and villas, they knew it was the perfect place for their guests. With a week of celebrations to plan, the wedding team got to work creating a custom experience for their group.

When KayLah and Tyler began the planning process, the wedding team was at the ready, tackling any hurdles the couple encountered. Quick to jump in and find a solution, the words “don’t worry, we’ve got this,” became a comforting phrase the couple heard often.

“The Beaches team made what could have been a stressful time enjoyable and fun,” Tyler says. One of their biggest obstacles: coordinating reservations from afar and dealing with last-minute

changes. Some people weren’t able to commit by the deadline or had to make travel adjustments. Once again, KayLah and Tyler were met with a simple: “Don’t worry.”

When it came to choosing décor and details, the pair wanted the character of the island front and center. KayLah and Tyler communicated their ideas to their wedding planner, Ashley Burdette from Sugar & Cloth, who then collaborated with the team at Beaches to put on a stunning event.

Taking a step back from every nuance of the vendor selections, KayLah and Tyler relied on referrals from friends back home and the wedding team. The result? A flawless and harmonious execution of details, much like a scene out of a storybook.

One of KayLah and Tyler’s most important requests: for their guests to embrace the friendly Caribbean culture.

KayLah and Tyler chose blue, white, and coral flowers and décor to complement their beach-themed wedding and to enhance the stunning surroundings. The wedding party’s attire followed the same color scheme, and each bridesmaid wore a unique dress style and color to match the coastal palette of the wedding. The ceremony took place on the best stretch of Grace Bay Beach, complete with endless ocean views. Guests were led down a wooden runway on the sand, flanked by fabric-draped Chiavari chairs and hanging floral arrangements. The couple exchanged vows under a white wooden pergola covered in flowers and flowing fabric. Once the ceremony concluded, guests were invited to clean the sand off their feet with ribbon-tied brushes.

KayLah and Tyler relied on the resort’s culinary team to treat their 40 guests to a hand-selected, four-course meal and special touches like candy box favors and a giant canoe which served as a beverage station.

The reception was a true celebration of love: Love for friends, family, and each other. A custom neon sign and greenery wall became a favorite spot for photo ops. But KayLah and Tyler agreed the personalized dance floor, with their initials displayed in the center and long tables providing front row seats along three sides, was the real highlight of the evening.

They had the gorgeous Caribbean Sea, a powdery beach, delectable food, and a dance floor with their initials on it. But the most important element of KayLah and Tyler’s wedding — the one that they will cherish the most — is the memory of being together with friends and family. “We each married our best friend,” they say, “and we celebrated with our favorite people in what is now our favorite place in the world.”

After the wedding, KayLah and Tyler opted for a unique “mini-moon” experience across the United States, exploring the vibrant cities of Los Angeles and Las Vegas. As they look forward to the future, they are eagerly planning two more trips to continue their honeymoon adventures.

To future couples preparing for their special day, KayLah and Tyler offer a valuable piece of advice that they learned from their experience: “Choose a place and a team that will allow you to enjoy the process. This is a time you will cherish forever. We had an amazing wedding planner and an amazing Beaches team. They made our wedding day as special for our guests as it was for us.” In the end, KayLah and Tyler’s story reminds us that our greatest expectations can be met — and even surpassed. Their journey from a chance encounter at a dance hall to a dreamy destination wedding in Turks and Caicos is a testament to where the power of love can lead.
